I'm reading Girl Child Saturday to Becca, as well as the Boxcar Children.
Reading to Becca is one of the most fun things I have ever had the privelage of doing! She takes each moment of the story in like she's living it. When the eagles soar above the trees, she makes slow circles in the living room with her arms stretched behind her. Whe Girl Child is scared, Becca huddles beside the chair and bites her fingers.



Becca got in trouble yesterday for the first time at school... because she coudn't stop humming.

I remember reading the boxcar children - those were great stories..

I'll have to look up Girl Child Saturday! I've never heard of it. (I'm a huge fan of children and young adult fiction books) I read the Boxcar Children. I loved that first book.

I got in trouble in first grade because I couldn't stop whistling. :) But I think it was more about me losing my front teeth and I figured out how to make a whistling noise by blowing through the hole....yeah...I was a punk.

how fun and remarkable. I look forward to that soon too. Sounds like she is a lot of fun. I can't wait to read stories to our youngin's. I also want to take them camping and do like monster stories. But I don't want to freak them out too bad.

I used to get in trouble at school for talking...but humming? I don't know about that... she wasn't doing it blatantly probably, just absent-mindedly... they're getting really strict at school these days!
